Edward Wilson Currier (1857–1918) was an American painter. Born in Marietta, Ohio, he was educated at the Chicago Academy of Fine Arts and opened a studio in San Francisco, California. Note the artist's signature at the bottom with the 1917 date. This scene he painted in Chinatown is a heart-grabber. Did the artist add the words or the postcard company? My Flag and Your Flag was a popular poem during WWI. But the words in the poem rather contradict this scene ... . I can't help but wonder: how did this card end up in France?!
