Have you ever seen such a cute version of Neptune, god of the sea? This digital has been created from an antique French postcard that's part real photo and part fake props. The huge fork as a trident is the piece de resistence! Now, with the long curly hair, one might easily think this is a girl. In fact, my original card has a pale pink wash over the child's wrap. So for several hours while I was working on this, I assumed this was a cute girl. Then I realized, this is Neptune we're talking about here:) And that Greek god is always depicted with long flowing locks. And many Victorian boys did have long, curly hair. So I took the easy way out and made the gown aqua-blue. You can cover up the name and make this child to be either sex. Either way, she/he is a sweetie. Also, I left the original white postcard border around the image and added a coordinating frame. You may want to crop both edges off and do your own layering with other colors. Many options to play around with this image. But surely you'll add a pearl to Neptune's crown?!
