This is a scan of an English postcard mailed in 1913. I call this woman simply "English Beauty." She doesn't have that wild flapper look, but she's not the dressed-to-the-nines Edwardian/Victorian type either. More of a casual elegance, that touch of rich fur trim on her gown yet a low-key straw hat. It all comes togther for such a charming effect. Yet, there's a boldness about her, too, that's so enviable -- that straight-into-the -camera confident look! She would be a fine image to use in just about anything.
