In an effort to make postcard collecting all the more affordable and to clear out my stash of 6-7,000 postcards from France, I'm going to be posting several Bon Marche batches like this one!
This Bon March lot features beaucoup des femmes: stage stars, postcard models, real photos and illustrations. Aside from the metallic gold St. Josephine stamp on the card of the woman with the flower basket and the touches of lavender on the Queenly portrait, there cards are mostly black and white or sepia tones. Lots of variety from the innocent to the smoking femme fatale! The cards show wear and are for the most part, what I describe as "shabbily chic." Perfect for the artist or scrapbook collector for upcycling. The French calligraphy on the back of the card featuring Luz Chavita is beautiful in its own right. Dates on the cards range from circa 1903 undivided back to 1914.
Please look at the scans closely. If you have any questions, feel free to send me a message! All cards are approximately 3.5 by 5.5 inches.
